To make onion flakes, onions are dehydrated and then chopped, once an onion has been dried the flavour is more intense making it the perfect seasoning to almost any dish.
Onion flakes are best used by adding them to something wet such as a meat mixture, soup, stew ect. so they can reconstitute. If you are wanting to fry onion flakes, you will get a better result by briefly soaking them first.
