Description:

There is two ways to distill your wash. The traditional small batch distiller uses the Turbo 500 Still to distill alcohol to create a pure clean spirit with no taste or flavours at all. The second way is to use the Alembic Still to distill alcohol that contains flavours where the home distiller wants to collect and retain the character of the original alcohol

These additions transform the T500/Grainfather into an Alembic Pot Still. Instead of stripping flavours to give clean spirit like the T500, this pot still retains and enhances flavours. This can be used when distilling washes that contain flavours that you wish to collect.

The Pot Still Alembic Condenser:

is best used with the T500 Boiler and the Pot Still Alembic Dome Top. You can use this with the T500 Boiler without the Pot Still Alembic Dome Top, to do this it fits on to the lid of the T500 Boiler. This condenser is what differentiates this still from the T500. It is what retains the flavour rather than stripping it out by refluxing. This comes with a thermometer, tubing and tap adaptor set.

The Pot Still Alembic Dome Top:

is copper and fits on to your T500 Boiler. This can be used in place of the T500 Boiler’s stainless steel lid. The large copper surface area of this dome top acts as a catalyst with the vapor in the still and helps enhance and concentrate the flavours and aromas as well as remove unwanted sulphur compounds. This produces a smoother, richer, sweeter tasting spirit.

NOTE: It is illegal to distill alcohol without a permit from the ATO.  A boiler for the still is not supplied, as you legally need a capacity of less than 5L in Australia.  The Beer Boiler supplied is ONLY for fermenting.  You must obtain a license before buying this system for alcohol use.  NZ residents may legally use the Beer Boiler with the still.
