The Nirey KE-280, KE-3000 and KE-500 come fitted with fine abrasive belts fitted on carrier wheels as standard. Fine belts are 320 grit and are designed as a finishing or honing belt. Medium belts fitted on carrier wheels are white internally and a sold in pairs. They are 240 grit. These belts are more aggressive and are designed to profile knives quicker than the fine belts. Rough belts fitted on carrier wheels are blue internally and a sold in pairs. They are 180 grit. Nirey have recently added super fine belts to their range, they are 1000 grit and designed as a finishing belt and will give the knife a razor shape edge and a polished finish.
